Are you our newest Business Development Associate?
As the Business Development Associate, you will work in our New York office, covering all products to provide support to Wire, RIA and IBD advisors. The right person will have a solid industry background, strong relationship-building abilities, and superior communication skills. An in-depth understanding of the financial services industry is essential since our clients include many of the investment community’s most highly regarded professionals.
What will you do?
- Effectively develop relationships with Alternative Sales teams, Branch Managers, and financial advisors to promote business-building ideas and services.
- Through targeted prospecting activities, develop new relationships with financial advisors in the assigned market segment and geographical territory and maintain and broaden existing relationships.
- Maintain a high level of expertise related to the capital markets, the investment management industry, and marketplace developments.
- Speak with Financial Advisors directly and proactively establish rapport and create interest in our product(s).
- Learn, know, and be able to present all focus products and value-added pieces.
- Develop and implement a sales plan to capture opportunities in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
- Proactively identify prospects and work autonomously to manage them to closure.
- Deliver sales literature and sales ideas to facilitate the sales process and enhance Advisor relationships.
- Use cross-function utilization for our partner needs (as it pertains to sales documentation and/or marketing materials).
- Utilize data, market trends, and industry knowledge to formulate a strategy to maintain and increase assets.
What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
- Hybrid internal and external wholesale experience
- Series 7 and 5-10 years of asset management sales experience
- Exceptional knowledge of markets and business acumen to influence decision-makers
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding predetermined key goals
- Polished presence, effective listening, client preparedness, and presentation skills
- Professional characteristics reflecting curiosity, empathy, and enthusiasm coupled with a solution-based drive to meet highly accountable results
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, a true team player
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly and resourcefully to changing situations
- Ability to travel two to three weeks per quarter
- Proficiency in using software tools that measure user engagement for content pieces, website engagement, and/or email marketing
- A high level of experience using CRM software, preferably HubSpot or Salesforce, to manage a sales pipeline, capture call notes, and support management-level communication with analytics dashboards
- A great degree of comfort using prospecting and market intelligence tools such as Dakota Marketplace, Prequin, and/or MarketLens to understand and recommend how to match market intelligence with outreach efforts
Salary Range
- The expected salary for this position is $125,000 - $200,000
